South Lombok is a beautiful string of white sand beaches, majestic cliffs and coconut groves which collectively and with the addition of all of the other aspects of the area offers a coastline of extreme beauty to be explored and discovered. The main area offering tourist facilities is Kuta Lombok which is not to be mistaken or in any way compared to its Balinese namesake. Kuta Lombok is far lower key and is the centre for backpacker, travellers and surfers who are travelling in the area but Kuta is not limited just to this as there are also a number of other excellent hotels and villa located in the area. With a number of little gems hidden away you can really get a feel for the tropical calmness and beauty of the area. The facilities located around Kuta are generally basic and there is really only on main strip which overlooks the beach offering great budget and more up market food although there is little nightlife in the area. South Lombok is a tropical area which still offers plenty to see as well as an un-crowded appeal which brings you closer to the beauty of the landscapes, beaches and culture of the island making your trip an unforgettable on.

You will also fin that if you head slightly further inland you will find some incredible markets and cultural sights as well as some temples and other attractions and there are always trips possible to the Gili Islands as well as the Mount Rinjani area where you can see some of the more rural areas as well as try your hand at the night hike up Mount Rinjani in order to witness what is likely to be one of the best sunrise experiences of your life. You will find a number of restaurants located in particularly scenic areas along the coast with some fantastic views.
