Getting to Lombok has never been easier than it is now with the tourism booming in Bali and Lombok as well as around the rest of Indonesia, you will find that there are plenty of ways to reach Lombok as well as its famous Gili Islands offering everything from luxury, speed, adventure and seriously budget friendly options. The easiest, quickest and possibly best value option for reaching Lombok is by air, there are flights leaving everyday from the airports of Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Singapore and Bima meaning it is now extremely easy and convenient to book your entire holiday in Senggigi and fly straight from home to Materam Airport with only a further 20 or 30 minute drive to reach your hotel. This is also an excellent way to combines Bali holiday wit some time in Lombok with a flight that takes around 30 minutes Airlines offering these services include Lion Air from Jakarta, Batavia Air from Jakarta and Surabaya, Wings Air from Jakarta, Surabaya and Kuala Lumpur Silk Air from Singapore. The benefits of this method of flight are obvious and the prices are often very cheap especially when you book in advance.

You can also reach Lombok or the Gili Islands from Bali using one of the fast boat services that offer a medium priced speedy way to make the crossing. The two most common and cheapest of these options are the Blue Water Express which operates from Benoa Harbor in Bali to the Gili Islands and the north coast of Lombok close to Senggigi and the Gili Cat which again arrives in Teluk Nare in the north of Lombok although it leaves from Padang Bai which is slightly further away from most of the resort of areas of southern Bali. All of these services offer air conditioned pick up and drop of to and from your hotel and there are also routes to Senggigi offered. It is however advised that the elderly or pregnant do not take the fast boats as when there is eve a small swell which is extremely common, these boat rides can get pretty bumpy and can be extremely uncomfortable when the swell is large.

Another of option is the classic slow boat, you can take a car or a motorbike on the public ferry for a very low price from Padang Bai and to Lembar in the south of Lombok where you can make the trip to the Kuta area, Bangko Bangko or Senggigi although this crossing takes around 4 hours and is often subject to delays of up to an extra hour. How ever this option allows to you to experience the culture and scenery of both islands at your own pace and is an enjoyable way to travel if you have the time, this boat is smooth in the largest swells and does offer some cabins and deck seating. You can use the shuttle bus which will coast a little more although you will be taken from your hotel to your chosen location in Lombok for a very low price.
