This tropical little treasure is located not far north of Bitung on the eastern side of Sulawesi's northern peninsula and faces
Manado. Kungkungan Bay Resort is built in a traditional nature and is a marvel to look at with pure Sulawesi styling while being modern in luxury and facilities. There is 1,200ft of private beach to enjoy out the front of the grounds and behind you there is a thick and beautiful rainforest meaning that when you are staying at Kungkungan Bay Resort you will be able to completely escape into this tropical dreamland. The local culture of this area are extremely laid back which is a great way to compliment a diving holiday or a romantic stay in this secluded paradise. There are only 16 separate cottages, eight of these are the deluxe beach front cottages and the other eight are the deluxe beachfront Ional houses. All rooms within Kungkungan Bay Resort are decorated in a colorful and relaxing manner reminiscent of the styles of the traditional houses and major buildings. The beach here is one of black sand where you can walk out and enjoy the amazing skylines that include the sea horizons and the offshore islands with there volcanoes and mountains. These classic Indonesian sights can be hard to find in such a dramatic and wonderful nature as you can find here.

The restaurant offers a selection of Asian and western foods that will suit any mood in a fantastic setting suspended above the water with incredible sunset views and very good service. There is also a bar in the same area that is located close to both the pool and the beach meaning that you can chill out when you are not diving in this idyllic setting. The diving in the immediate area is excellent for all levels of experience and offers something a little different to the main spots although these are also within reach meaning you have plenty of options for diving around the island and Manado. The dives include volcanic ridges, a Japanese wreck and plenty of other options.
