Bali is well known as a island of Gods as well as the island of thousand temples. Hindu temples are easily found in many places around the island of Bali. It is holiest place to worship the Gods, spirit and it becomes part of social life in Balinese society. There are many kind of temples such as family temples which  belongs to a family, village temples named Kayangan temples which divided into three kind of temples such as Pura Desa, Pura Puseh and Pura Dalem, and temples in public area. Ceremonies are often done every time in many different occasions. The Balinese pray at these temples and give offerings to temples. The offerings contain petals, fruits, cookies or foods.

There are also famous temples in Bali, located in very unique and rural location.
Tanah Lot Temple
Located within 27 kilometers from Denpasar, Bali.. This temple is uniquely known, built on top of rocky cliff separated from the beach.. The view is amazing during sunset. Take a sip of holy water if the tide is low or watch a holy coral snake hiding in a hole behind the cliff face.

The Taman Ayun Temple
It was built in 1634 and is designed in garden terrace with many unique pagodas, raising high to sky. These pagodas were made to symbolize the Mahameru mountain, a home of god and spirits. The Taman Ayun is located at Mengwi, within 18 kilometers from Denpasar.

The Ulun Danu Temple
Located at the banks of Lake Beratan in Bedugul. The Ulun Danu Temple has spectacular mountain views, lake, mist, and clean water. It was built to worship Dewi Danu, the goddess of the lake.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu
It is located on the south western coast of Bali, and is dedicated to worship Dewa Rudra and the spirits of the ocean. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of the most important temple in Bali where many important ceremonies are held. The temple has Indonesian Ocean  view. Sunset here is amazing also.

Besakih Temple
Besakih Temple is actually a group of temples in one complex. There are total 18 minor temples and 17 Pedharman associated with three main temples reflecting three manifestation of Ida Hyang Widi,  The Almighty God. The temple is located on the south western slope of Mount Agung.
